Why does the educated class still dont consider Adoption as an option? What can be done to make it popular?

Well, the agonies of the orphan could be portrayed in such a way that would move a heart or two. Am talking about the power of advertising for the hows and whys of adoption.

srisha there is absolutely no point in giving advertisements!there are many consumer awareness ads too but the imporvements are negigible!i think instead of going for pleasure trips we must go for social visits more!how can we think of cleaning the vicinity without cleaning our own house??good work starts at home na?and ultimately one needs to have the will to do that!

I guess our society isn't open minded enough to accept a child who isn't their own. They still believe in nature over nurture. we can try showing statistics of how it's important and beneficial. but there's not much we can do untill people change their mindsets.

Adopting a child is a huge responsibility.. For a guy, it is easy to decide.. But for a girl who is truly thinking of adopting, cannot easily go for it...since she is answerable to so many around.. I feel the spouse should be a strong support.. If even one person in a family thinks this way, India would be a better place to live in..

Adoption in our country mainly is opted by childless couples. The constraints they face in the process is more mental than legal. Most of the time couples may have no problem with adoption but elders in their family may be against it because of their narrow point of view. Advertisement showing positive sides of adoption could be a good idea at the same times counselling of couples and their immediate family member at hospitals may also help.
