Happiness

Happiness doesn't depend upon the situation but on the state of mind of the individual. Even in happy times we will be sad or stressed, in difficult times also we can be happy. Let me give an example-

People often throw a party. The host is never happy because he has to think how many people are coming, are the arrangements proper, have I invited all the important people, etc. In other words the atmosphere is of happiness but the host is unhappy.

Similarly think of the floods situation, the NGO people who provide aid are very happy to be in the flooded areas so that they can reach the people and provide help to them. Even in those difficult situations the volunteers are happy who help the victims.

Even in difficult situations, if you are serving others you are happy. Be happy serve others.
Service to mankind is Service to God

sahi hai hari. dat article abt happiness was very beautiful. i fully agree wid you that happiness is not subject to any of the situations. and many a times we also witness a different nature of where we ourselves don't understand how we ourselves are feeling whether happy or sad....:) / :(

yes hari...its true that it depends on state of mind...i would like to elaborate it further.. happiness doesnt depend only on state of mind...because something mysterious drives our state of mind that leads to happiness..take an example...whenever i see rail tracks i m verry happy...u may think its absurd but its really that way...the joy, ecstacy i get when i see the tracks is limitless...One is happy -actually when one enters a state of mind where own world is created i.e. u reach ur highest enrgy levels!!!
